Business Analyst
The Business Analyst analyzes information technology (IT) requirements in business processes, through requirements elicitation, solutions identification, risk analysis and collaboration across (IT) teams. They apply specific functional knowledge and working/general industry knowledge. They develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Business analysts work both independently and with some guidance and may review or guide activities of others.
As a Business Analyst you will be part of an Agile software delivery team and will work directly with customers to collect requirements and design solutions in an effort to modernize and enhance critical software systems. You will actively support all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to make sure the solution you’re developing considers both existing user needs as well as future needs and enhancements.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers to identify, document, and prioritize requirements.
- Conduct requirements collection and review sessions with stakeholders.
- Document user requirements (write user stories, contribute to wireframes/mockups, test scenarios etc.).
- Perform system testing to verify developed code meets user needs.
- Conduct user acceptance testing sessions with stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and direction to a small (3-4 person) Agile scrum team.
- Engage stakeholders to define future-state vision for software systems.
- Conduct product demonstration (demos) and user training sessions with stakeholders to review progress and ensure developed solutions meet end user needs.
- Champion the use of Agile principles and practices to build a culture of trust, continuous improvement, and delivery within the team.
- Ensure compliance with customer and Athena Federal Solutions policies & procedures, safety, state, and federal laws, regulations, and standards.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Minimum 4 years relevant business analyst experience with prior federal government contracting experience preferred.
- Able to meet federal contract requirements including US citizenship and suitability clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Consulting experience and business process analysis/optimization required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and Agile team members.
- Ability to lead and provide direction to a small (3-4 person) team.
- Able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and execute in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to solicit requirements.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High-level of flexibility, creativity, and innovation.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working under pressure.
- Ability to deliver multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Practical experience with identification and documentation of business requirements, evaluation of business processes.
